To the Editor, The immune environment of the neonatal lungs is biased toward type 2 immunity, characterized by the transient accumulation of type 2 cytokines and cells [1]. We observed transient elevation of the type 2 cytokines IL-13 and IL-33 and the immunoregulatory cytokine IL-10 in neonatal lungs from postnatal Days 1 to 4, which decreased with age.
