ABSTRACT A series of new cationic Pd‐allyl complexes were synthesized using bidentate phosphine‐thioether (P~ S) ligands. The structures of the corresponding (P~ S) Pd (allyl) complexes were thoroughly characterized by NMR spectroscopy, high‐resolution mass spectrometry, and X‐ray crystallography. These synthesized complexes were employed as single‐component catalysts for the vinyl‐addition polymerization of norbornene and its derivatives.
