Chronic pruritus requires comprehensive assessment and management due to its profound impact on quality of life. The etiologies of pruritus are diverse, encompassing dermatologic, neuropathic, systemic, psychogenic, and mixed causes. Pruritogens activate C and Aδ fibers through histaminergic and non-histaminergic pathways.
