Hypertensive disease remains one of the leading contributors to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality worldwide, with hyperlipidemia as a major metabolic comorbidity. There is a relative absence of long-term mortality trends that directly assess the co-occurrence of hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
